The Red Rock Trailhead is located at the end of Many Glacier Road, which is on the east side of Glacier National Park. The most scenic driving route would be from the west entrance and across Logan Pass on the Going-to-the-Sun Road. Many Glacier Road is accessible after leaving the east entrance and then returning to the park via Babb, Montana.mini falls above the Red Rock falls

animals we saw today: white tail deer and fawn, Moose and twin babies, and Baby Grizzly.

Meet downstairs in the Lucerne Room of the Many Glacier Hotel for an evening slide program on the wonders of Glacier National Park. 45 minutes
was on the Program, the talk was SUPPOSED to be a bout Glacier Park Flowers, what Happened was someone discharged BEAR SPRAY in the room and FREAKED US OUT for the next 24 hours. it was 9/11 all over again.

Avalanche Lake and Avalanche Gorge can be reached via a 4 mile round trip from the trailhead at Avalanche Campground. It's pleasant hiking along the creek, but there are no views to speak of until you reach the lake. the park guide walked fast, and it was hard for us city slickers to keep up. Avalanche Lake is pleasant, but not one of the most spectacular destinations in Glacier National Park. Worthwhile.

The Bitterroot Mountains form a rugged, glacier-carved border between Idaho and Montana. On both sides of this border is the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness, the third largest Wilderness in the Lower 48. Only the 600-foot-wide Nez Perce Trail (The Magruder Corridor), an unimproved dirt road, separates the Selway-Bitterroot from the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness.
